As part of this elite engineering group, you’ll work in an environment where precision meets performance, driving innovation in mobile trading technology.

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer – React Native, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining Kraken’s flagship Pro trading application, ensuring seamless functionality and high performance across iOS and Android.

You’ll collaborate with designers, backend engineers, and product teams to create world-class user experiences for professional traders — optimizing for security, speed, and usability.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-quality React Native mobile applications.
Lead technical architecture discussions, helping to shape the evolution of Kraken Pro.
Influence product strategy through technical insight and hands-on implementation.
Mentor engineers and uphold a high bar for code quality and performance.
Implement scalable and fault-tolerant systems that enhance platform stability.
Stay up to date with modern technologies and promote innovation within the team.
Contribute to process improvements and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

6+ years of experience in software engineering, including significant mobile app development.
Expertise in React Native, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
Strong understanding of API design, security, and performance optimization.
Familiarity with Next.js and WebSockets for real-time trading experiences.
Experience with frontend testing frameworks and modern build pipelines.
Excellent grasp of UI/UX principles and mobile usability patterns.
Background in fintech, trading, or crypto applications is highly preferred.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
Familiarity with native app development (Objective-C, Kotlin, or Java) for iOS and Android.

Nice to Haves

Experience working within large-scale tech organizations or fast-growth startups.
Deep understanding of financial markets, order books, and trading systems.
Prior experience designing real-time user interfaces for crypto or fintech platforms.
