Role Overview

As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Breakout team, you’ll design and build the core backend systems that power its high-performance trading platform. You’ll focus on data pipelines, metrics visibility, and real-time performance monitoring, ensuring the platform remains fast, reliable, and secure under heavy market conditions.

This is a hands-on technical role with strong cross-functional collaboration between engineering, data, operations, and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain low-latency, scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using C# and ASP.NET Core.
Build real-time data processing systems for trading activity, risk exposure, and portfolio analysis.
Architect data pipelines and models for metrics dashboards, performance analytics, and risk reporting.
Optimize PostgreSQL queries and schemas for high throughput and reliability.
Integrate with third-party APIs and ensure end-to-end data consistency.
Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks and latency issues.
Implement security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and encryption standards.

Qualifications

7+ years of backend engineering experience, with 3+ years in financial, metrics-driven, or high-performance systems.
Advanced proficiency in C#, ASP.NET Core, and PostgreSQL.
Strong experience deploying and scaling applications on AWS.
Proven background in building API platforms, real-time data pipelines, or trading systems.
Curiosity or experience with crypto trading and market infrastructure.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ownership mindset.
