Role Overview
As Director of Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting, you will lead the technical accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulation, and corporate transformation initiatives. You’ll serve as a subject-matter expert for complex accounting issues, M&A, audit committee interactions, and financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical accounting guidance, interpret complex transactions and ensure appropriate accounting treatments.
Lead financial reporting processes: internal/external statements, disclosures, audit committee preparation.
Maintain and update accounting policies, implement new standards, manage internal controls and SOX readiness.
Drive strategic initiatives and cross-functional support: product launches, new revenue models, M&A due diligence and integrations.
Manage external auditor relationships, ensure audit readiness, and develop reporting systems and tools (e.g., Workiva).
Requirements & Qualifications
15+ years of total experience with increasing responsibility, including people management.
Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, IFRS, SEC reporting (10-K / 10-Q) and technical accounting issues.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, CPA (required). Experience in auditing (Big 4) and brokerage/trading firms preferred. Crypto experience is highly preferred.
Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
