Role Overview

As a Compliance Officer, Trade Surveillance, you’ll be responsible for monitoring, detecting and investigating suspicious trading activity across crypto and traditional markets, ensuring compliance with market-integrity standards and regulatory requirements. You’ll leverage advanced surveillance tools, work with cross-functional teams, and contribute to a robust investigations process in a fast-growing crypto-native environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive monitoring of trading activities across cryptocurrency and traditional brokerage accounts to identify potential market manipulation or suspicious behaviors.

• Utilize trade surveillance software (e.g., Solidus Labs) and other analytics tools to evaluate trading patterns and surface red flags.

• Manage investigations from alert detection through documentation and decision-making, including high-risk escalations.

• Ensure accuracy of trade reconciliations between trading records and financial statements, resolving discrepancies proactively.

• Monitor communications (emails, chats) for compliance risks and collaborate with legal, risk, and IT teams to bolster oversight.

• Stay up-to-date on evolving regulatory standards and financial-crime typologies related to cryptocurrency markets.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent experience.

• 7+ years of experience in trade surveillance or compliance within a broker-dealer, fintech, crypto or financial institution context.

• Hands-on experience with trade surveillance platforms and strong analytical skills with large data sets.

• Solid understanding of regulatory frameworks and virtual-currency compliance issues.

• Excellent written communication, documentation skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.

• Passion for safeguarding market integrity and proactive mindset in identifying risk.
