Senior Visual Designer at Ellipsis Labs

About the Role

Position: Full-time — New York, NY

Ellipsis Labs builds applications and infrastructure that form a sustainable foundation for modern finance.
We’re looking for a Senior Visual Designer to lead our visual design systems across Phoenix and future products. You’ll shape the look, feel, and polish of high-performance trading interfaces that power real-time financial experiences.

What You’ll Do

• Own the visual system — typography, color, spacing, iconography, and component theming.

• Translate complex trading mechanics into clear, intuitive visual hierarchies and data visualizations.

• Build and maintain a Figma design system for consistency, scalability, and developer readiness.

• Elevate visual polish across critical surfaces (order entry, charts, risk states) — including micro-interactions and motion.

• Collaborate with engineers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation under real-world constraints.

• Lead brand expression across all product surfaces and key product moments.

• Use feedback and data to iterate rapidly while maintaining high craft standards.

Requirements

• 2+ years designing visual systems for complex or data-heavy digital products (finance, trading, analytics, or similar).

• A strong portfolio demonstrating visual craft, system thinking, and clear data presentation.

• Deep fluency in Figma — components, variants, and auto-layout best practices.

• Collaborative mindset — able to balance design excellence with engineering feasibility.

• High ownership, detail-oriented, and motivated to ship quality work fast.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with crypto/Web3 interfaces and user behavior.

• Experience with Solana or similar blockchain ecosystems.
