About the Team

The Earn Growth Pod is a cross-functional team responsible for designing, building, and scaling Kraken’s Earn experiences across its Kraken, Consumer, and Pro platforms. This group connects the web, mobile, and service layers that allow users to earn rewards on digital assets securely and intuitively.

As the Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a hybrid team of frontend (React/React Native) and backend (Rust) engineers while partnering closely with Product and Design to enhance user experiences and internal Earn management tools.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on engineering leadership role where you’ll guide the technical and strategic direction of Kraken’s Earn products. You’ll ensure scalable, reliable, and user-focused implementations across multiple platforms while mentoring engineers and maintaining a culture of excellence and inclusivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional team of frontend and backend engineers responsible for all Earn features.

• Own the user experience (UX) for Earn across Kraken, Consumer, and Pro products.

• Oversee the Earn SDK and its integration across web (React) and mobile (React Native).

• Manage and evolve the internal Earn management tool, used to orchestrate global earn strategies.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Tech Leads to deliver high-impact, user-centric features.

• Partner with the Earn Service Guild to ensure consistent technical standards and service reliability.

• Champion engineering excellence, code maintainability, and scalable architectures.

• Mentor engineers and nurture a collaborative, growth-oriented team culture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineering teams building customer-facing products at scale.

• Strong background managing cross-functional frontend and backend teams.

• Deep technical expertise in React, React Native, and Next.js.

• Strong understanding of modern frontend architectures and engineering best practices.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Ability to balance technical vision with business and customer goals.

• Experience in FinTech, DeFi, or trading platforms preferred.

Nice to Haves

• Experience developing or managing shared SDKs or internal libraries.

• Background in distributed systems design or microservice architecture.

• Working knowledge of Rust, Go, or C++, with an understanding of async programming and API design.
